A fallback checkout for your online store, running on Cloudflare.
Lifeboat Engine is a hardened PayPal checkout and secure download gateway that you deploy on Cloudflare. The server sets the price, confirms every payment with PayPal, and hands each buyer a one-time download link, so you can keep selling even when your main storefront is down.

How a sale is checked
- Browser sends a product codeOnly the product code leaves the page. It never sends a price.
- Your server sets the priceThe amount comes from a table on the server, so it cannot be edited in the browser.
- PayPal confirms the paymentThe server asks PayPal directly and checks that the product, currency and amount match.
- Buyer gets a one-time linkThe file streams from private storage. The link works once and expires after 24 hours.
What is inside
- Server-side pricingOne catalog on the server decides every price.
- Amount verificationA cheap order cannot be swapped for a paid product.
- Single-use downloadsTokens are claimed atomically in D1, so two requests cannot both download.
- Private file storageFiles stay in a private R2 bucket and never get a public address.
- Safe retriesRepeating an order returns the same link, never a second charge.
- Request limitsBody size is capped and order IDs are checked before use.
Runs on Cloudflare Pages Functions, D1 and R2, with PayPal for payment.
