Why our art looks like this
Flat colour, bold outlines, repeated shapes and a dot texture: that is the look of the pictures across Gambot, and it is a tribute.
This gallery honours Andy Warhol and the Carpatho-Rusyn people, also called Rusyns or Ruthenians, from whom his parents came. His parents emigrated to the United States and settled in Pittsburgh. Sources place their home in the village of Miková, in what is now Slovakia. Rusyn identity is understood in different ways today; this note does not speak for the community.
Every piece here is our own drawing, made of vectors, so it stays sharp at any size. None of them copies his work.
