Zen, piece three

The water becomes clear: the lake

How settled is the water?
How do you want to see it?
A misty mountain lake in grey-green light. Rings of ripples spread across dark, still water from the middle of the picture, and a wet rock rests in the lower right corner.
Picture and clip made with Midjourney.

The water is murky. The mud is still hanging in it, and the ripples are strong.

The mud is sinking. The water above it is clearing and the ripples are fading.

The water is clear. The mud rests on the bottom and the ripples have almost gone.

Do you have the patience to wait

Till the mud settles and the water is clear?

Can you remain unmoving

Till the right action arises by itself?

After the Tao Te Ching, chapter 15.

The murk and the settling are CSS effects layered over the picture and the clip, below the waterline. They are not part of the photograph.

This piece is for the screen only. It has no headset view.

Version 3 of this piece was made by Claude, Jeffrey and Midjourney.
